What is Kinesiology?

Right from it's beginnings Kinesiology was always a way to use the muscles to discover what is happening in the body. Now it is one of the best ways to go beyond symptoms so you can manage stress, clear blocks and restore a sense of balanced well being.

Kinesiology can help:

  • Stress, Anxiety, Fears and Phobias

  • Grief and Loss

  • Muscular pain and problems

  • Fatigue and Motivation

  • Goal Setting and improved performance

  • Learning and Memory for young and old

  • Mood and Sleep

  • Hormonal Balance – PMT, Menopause and Andropause

  • Allergies, Sensitivities and Immune system

  • Adrenal Burnout

  • Thyroid imbalance

  • Candida

  • Weight Issues

  • Blood Sugar disorders

  • Incontinence and Bedwetting

  • Post-Traumatic Stress

  • And much more...

What Clients say

"Thank you Gail Allen for an excellent kinesiology session. I feel calm and centred. My worry about the future has dissolved and I feel ready to take things on in a more effective way, instead of running in circles. As well as being a kinesiologist, Gail qualified in a lot of different healing modalities and she was originally a nurse. She is very good at what she does, and has an empathic caring nature. Usually kinesiology at a clinic will cost anywhere from $110 -$150 for an hour. I throughly recommend her."  SJ

"I feel calmer, centered and more in control. I'm making healthier choices" JR

"My Doctor said, 'keep doing whatever you've been doing'.... it's working'." MT

About Kinesiology

Kinesiology came from the work of George Goodhart and other Chiropractors in the early 1960's as they began to understand the meaning of different muscle responses in the body. The Western world was just opening to the philosophies of Traditional Eastern Medicines and beginning to accept the realities about the body's meridian system used so successfully during Acupuncture. These philosophies have blended well with a Western understanding to create a truly holistic system of healing.

There are now many varieties of Kinesiology. Many people would have learnt about it through  'Touch for Health' developed by John Thie. Touch for Health was designed to educate and inspire the general public to use very simple but incredibly effective techniques for relief of stress and pain and improve general health and wellbeing.  Paul Dennison realised the potential of the Touch for health model to assist people with Dyslexia and many people have been introduced to it because of it's effectiveness in helping with developmental delays and learning difficulties. There are some excellent programs for this, including LEAP Learning, Brain Gym and Educational Kinesiology. In the UK, Jimmy Scott's 'Health Kinesiolgy', now called Bioenergetics is well known for helping many people with allergies live more normal lives.

By checking the way a muscle  responds, we can build up a picture of how the body is trying to find it's own best solution, whatever the situation. When going through stressful situation our solutions can be coping strategies that eventually find us stuck in uncomfortable compensation pattern. This can mean being stuck in physical pain, avoidance behaviors, unresolved distress and other compensatory patterns. Kinesiology has discovered that when asked,  your body knows how to relieve pain, resolve emotional distress and find the courage to  bring  your life back into balance.  Acupressure, sound and colour therapy, flower essences, and guided meditation techniques are some of the methods I use to help with this rebalancing.

Results are often felt immediately.
